Of all the Chinese festivals, the Spring Festival is the first and the most important one, an occasion for family reunion and the beginning of a new year.

Fallingon the first day of Chinese lunar year, the event involves many traditional activities. Usually on the New Year’s eve, family members get together to feast, sharing what each has achieved in the past year and anticipating the year ahead. Also, putting up spring couplets and setting off firecrackers greatly add color to the festive atmosphere.

Deeplyrooted in Chinese people’s hearts and integrated into the rich Chinese culture, the Spring Festival constantly reminds people to bid farewell to the old year and embrace a new one.

There’re a wide range of interesting activities. People get together to have a family reunion dinner, eating tangyuan, balls of sticky rice flour stuffed with different fillings.
