部分理论内容如下：

考场作文则须在有限的时间内按要求写作，一方面限制了自由，另一方面保证了效率和公平。考场作文不意味着临场发挥，相反，绝大多数工作可在且必须在考前完成。故而为迎合考试，有必要掌握应试作文的写作方法。

基于多年教学经验，笔者总结出适合高考作文的“三七作文法”，旨在帮助考生满足要求而不刻板，体现能力而不散漫。

“三”即三段式，对应文章的内容与结构。上海高考大作文要求120-150词，但若要得高分，需写到200词左右。如此篇幅，以三段为宜，少于三段则结构不够清晰，多余三段则显散乱。此外，题目要求以两问居多，每个问题各占一段，最后一段总结，同样适合“三段式”结构。具体而言，第一段为观点段，基本内容为介绍背景材料并提出自己的观点；第二段为论说段，基本结构为“主旨句+123”，即一个主旨句和三个支撑句；第三段为总结段，基本结构为“正面总结+反面总结+建议”，即用一句话正面总结上一段，紧接着正话反说，最后提建议，呼应首段观点。若题目有三个要求，则每个要求占一段，可省略总结段。

“七”即七种长难句写作技巧。笔者已在《高中英语长难句解析》一书中阐述过英语语言的精神——“一从三语+并列”。学习高级语法规则的目标有二：读懂长难句，写出长难句。读写不分家，阅读做减法，写作做加法。阅读长句时删除“一从三语+并列”，把复杂句变为简单句；写作时加上“一从三语+并列”，把简单句变为复杂句。

“一从”即从句，包括名词性从句、定语从句和状语从句。名词性从句又包括主语从句、宾语从句、表语从句和同位语从句。定语从句分为限定性和非限定性定语从句。状语从句包括时间、地点、原因、目的、结果、让步、条件、比较和方式九大状语从句。

“三语”即非谓语、插入语和介词短语。“非谓语”包括to do、doing、done三种基本形态：to do表示目的/将来，doing表示主动/进行，done表示被动/完成。另有两个次常用形式：having done表主动/完成，being done表被动/进行。非谓语和从句是高中语法的核心内容，也是英语写作的必备技能。“插入语”即两个逗号之间或两个破折号之间的内容，删除后不影响句子的主干。“介词短语”，顾名思义，即由介词引导的短语。

“并列”即由and、but、so、or等并列连词引导的句式：and表重复，but表转折，so表因果，or表选择。为避免句式重复，在从句和非谓语之后，建议使用and。And之前的内容说明大意，之后补充细节，换种说法再作诠释。能用从句则不用并列句，but和so分别对应让步和原因状语从句，因而不主张直接使用but和so。

以上五大长难句写作技巧偏宏观，六、七则更为微观。

第六大技巧为“形随名，副随动”，即“adj. + n.”和“adv. + v.”结构。写作时，名词和动词尽可能不要单独出现。用到名词时，用一个或多个形容词修饰之；用到动词时，用一个或多个副词修饰之。

第七大技巧为“名名、动动、形形、副副”，即“n. + n.”、“v. + v.”、“adj. + adj.”、“adv. + adv.”结构，类似汉语中的叠词。当找不到合适的形容词修饰名词时，将两个相近或相反的名词并列；找不到合适的副词修饰动词时，将两个相近或相反的动词并列。同理，形容词和副词也不单独出现，不修饰名词和动词时，把两个相近或相反形容词和副词并列，美感和气势顿生。

实践部分：主要以真题作文作为指导，通过老师的下水作文，为学生提供借鉴模板和高分思路。

假如你是高三学生李华，你的英语口语课外教Tom希望改变学生上课互动不积极的情况，委托你了解同学的想法。经过沟通交流，你了解到有些同学对课上话题不感兴趣，有些同学怕犯错，不敢开口。请你写封信给Tom：

1. 简单描述同学们的反馈

2. 向Tom提出建议并说明理由

Dear Tom,

Having learnt you are anxious about the phenomenon that we students seem unwilling to interact with you in class and that you are commissioning me to collect the students’ comments and complaints, I am writing to report students’ feedback and give you some suggestions accordingly.

According to my interview with my classmates, some show little interest in the topics you present in class while others dare not open their mouths for being afraid of making mistakes. As far as I am concerned, the chief reason why we students lack the motivation to interact with you is that you look too serious and seldom smile in class.

The problem, it seems to me, can be resolved in the following ways. To begin with, it is advisable that you optimize the teaching contents by introducing, say, more audio-visual materials instead of lecturing all the time to arouse our interest. In addition, you are expected not to correct our mistakes instantly after we make them but encourage us to speak out so as to help us build up confidence. Last but not least, you shall alter your teaching style, smile more often and don’t look that serious in order to make yourself more approachable. (201)

To whom it may concern,

Having learnt that our school is to organize a theme activity “Walking into History” through one of the three approaches: calling on veterans, staging a historical drama and shooting a short video, I, a Senior Three student, am writing to put forward my own idea that the second plan seems a superb option.

The reasons behind my preference, as far as I am concerned, can be analyzed in three respects. First and foremost, there is no doubt that performing a historical drama shall definitely motivate we students to explore and enquire into the historical background of a given historical event. In addition, not only can a drama get the actors and actresses involved, but all the students and teachers as the audience, thus boosting the impact of the activity. Last but not least, a drama could well integrate with the first and the third plan by, say, inviting veterans to be the audience and filming the performance.

To put it in a nutshell, “Walking into History” through a historical drama is bound to arouse students’ appetite for knowledge, bring about an extensive involvement, and share the advantages of the other two. It is, therefore, advisable that you opt for the historical drama. (202)

2. 提出改进的建议和理由。

To whom it may concern,

Having learnt the Students’ Union, on behalf of the school, is collecting students’ opinions on the morning jogging lasting from 7:30 to 7:50, 5 minutes after which the first class follows, I am writing to put forward my own idea that the schedule proves unreasonable and the exercise is expected to be done in the afternoon before leaving school.

The reasons why it is more appropriate to run in the afternoon, as far as I am concerned, can be seen in three aspects. To begin with, according to the regulation of the Ministry of Education that schools ought not to arrange activities before 8:00, running in the afternoon is definitely in agreement with the law. In addition, taking classes swiftly after running in a sweat proves detrimental to learning efficiency while running before leaving school seems harmless. Last but not least, as some have been complaining that they do not feel well after running early in the morning, exercising in the afternoon would turn out to be healthier.

To sum up, running in the afternoon conforms to the law, ensures learning efficiency and promotes students’ well-being, which cannot be achieved by jogging in the morning. It is, therefore, advisable that we run in the afternoon before leaving school. (208)

Dear Bill,

Having learnt you are planning to study the Chinese language and that you cannot decide whether to opt for the Listening and Speaking course or the Reading and Writing one, I, as a Chinese native speaker, am writing to put forward my own idea that the first option might be more suitable for you.

The reasons behind the choice, as far as I can see, can be analyzed in three aspects. To start with, as is universally acknowledged, listening and speaking, rather than reading and writing, is the very beginning and foundation of learning a language. In addition, learning a foreign language twice a week is undoubtedly more effective and efficient than doing it merely once a week. Last but not least, that the teaching language is Chinese only shall force you to practice more earnestly, which ensures a faster progress in improving your language skills.

To sum up, the Listening and Speaking course will prove to be more relevant, intensive and efficient, which, by contrast, cannot be achieved by the Reading and Writing course. It is, therefore, advisable that you choose the former.

Dear Lucy,

Having learnt you are to set up a course on information literacy covering website designing, big data processing, information identifying and information searching and that you are collecting the students’ opinions, I, a Senior Three student, am writing to back up your initiative and voice my preference for the latter two modules.

The reasons why I favor information identifying and searching can be seen in three aspects. First and foremost, regarding the large quantity of deceptive and misleading fake news online, it is critical to identify which is which and be rightly informed of what is going on. In addition, in the contemporary society where information explodes on a daily basis, one is expected to access information as swiftly and accurately as possible if he is to gain an advantage in his life and work. Last but not least, compared with the other two, information identifying and searching, as far as I am concerned, appear much closer to the theme of information literacy.

To sum up, your course, especially the latter two modules, shall definitely enable we students to distinguish genuine and fake news, search for information more efficiently and thus develop a sound information literacy, without which a modern citizen cannot adapt to the fast-changing society. (207)

To conclude, attending the concert would prove worthwhile in terms of social responsibility, engagement and entertainment, which cannot and should not be impeded by the traffic. I therefore invite you to come with us and enjoy the music. (209)

Dear Manager,

Having learnt on an English program that your supermarket is collecting the public’s opinions on how to cope with the foods approaching the expiration dates soon, I, a Senior Three student, am writing to put forward my own idea that the foods might be disposed of in constructive ways.

To be specific, three options, as far as I can see, could be adopted to address the problem. To begin with, it is advisable that they be sold at a discount so that the customers get what they need and meanwhile the supermarket minimizes the financial loss. In addition, distributing the foods to your staff for free as welfare seems a brilliant idea as well, which may well improve their sense of satisfaction and happiness. Last but not least, you are supposed to donate the foods to charity organizations to help the needy people such as tramps, laid-off workers.

To sum up, the foods can and should be made full use of and go where they are most needed, and they shall never be sold beyond the guarantee periods, which is not only against the law, but harmful to consumers. Hope the above might be of any help to you and wish you a great day. (205)
